Since graduating from University I was involved in blacksmithing for just over 15 years. The vast majority of my career as a Blacksmith was spent at Ironart of Bath, creating a wide variety of bespoke architectural and ornamental metalwork. Whilst blacksmithing I gained a strong understanding of the need for accuracy and attention to detail, applying this discipline to all of the work that I did. I know that if a project is planned and managed properly a good job will result, and I continue to apply this in the walling and stonework that I do today.
I began studying the craft of walling with the help and direction of the Dry Stone Walling Association in 2014 and realised my ability to create, restore and maintain beautiful walls from a natural and sustainable material. Whilst living in the Cotswold’s for many years and enjoying the countryside I noticed just how much of an important and noticeable feature of the British landscape dry stone walls are. Using traditional and modern methods I look to restore old or build new walls, knowing that they will stand for many years to come. The stories some walls can tell can date back hundreds, and in some cases thousands of years; I feel privileged to build walls and stonework for the future that will become part of history.
I provide a friendly and professional service, and I always aim to exceed customer expectations from the initial contact right through to the completion of the project.
